Creating Workspaces
How to create a workspace.
1. Workspaces
For creating a new workspace within gIQ, click on Workspace in the left tool bar.
2. Click on Create new workspace.
3. Give your workspace a name.
In this example we will use Mangrove Abu Dhabi.
4. Click on Workspace Privacy and Next.
gIQ gives the creator of a workspace the option to add privacy settings to their workspace. Private means only to the workspace creator. Public means anyone who as access to the organisation can see the workspace. Group allows the creator to set a certain number of individuals for the workspace.
5. We give the user the ability to set dynamic filters.
This allows the system to search for new files which can meet the set criteria, which will be automatically added to the workspace. When done setting it up click on Next.
6. Next is what we call the static list.
This is a list of files which will always be in the workspace. There are filter options to help you find the right files.
7. Select the files you want to add to the workspace.
You can use the filter tool to search for the files that you want to add to your workspace.
8. In this example we will add a few layers to this workspace related to a mangrove study in Abu Dhabi.
9. Select the layer and if necessary, you can preview the layer
10. This opens the map and shows a footprint of the file.
11. Click on Close to stop the preview.
12. Go back to the search field in filters in workspace if you desire to add another layer. Click on save when finished.
13. You can also add layers from the exploration bar to your desired workspace.
In this example we will use Sentinel 2 imagery.
14. Click on the 3 dots. Click on add to Workspace.
15. Select the desired workspace you wish to add the workspace to.
16. Click "Add"
17. You can go back to Workspaces check if you have all your desired layers in your created Workspace. If needed, you can edit the workspace.
18. Edit Workspace
Editing the Workspace will get you back to the Workspace attributes.
